Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Equipment Cost, Explained
Most HBOT quotations are not comparable, because they cover different scopes. This guide sets out every line item that belongs in a hyperbaric oxygen therapy equipment cost so you can put two proposals side by side.
Written for clinics, hospitals and recovery centres buying in India.
What a complete HBOT quotation must contain
| Line item | What it covers | Commonly omitted? |
|---|---|---|
| Chamber | The pressure vessel, door, viewport, seating or bed | No |
| Compressor package | Air compressor, dryer, receiver, filtration | Frequently |
| Oxygen delivery | Concentrator or cylinder manifold, masks or hoods | Frequently |
| Control system | Pressurisation control, sensors, alarms, logging | No |
| Freight and rigging | Delivery, crane or skate entry, positioning | Very frequently |
| Electrical works | Three-phase supply to the plant position | Very frequently |
| Commissioning | Pressure testing, calibration, handover documentation | Frequently |
| Operator training | Protocol, safety and emergency procedure training | Frequently |
| Service contract | Scheduled maintenance and consumable replacement | Almost always |
A chamber-only price against a fully-scoped installed price is not a like-for-like comparison. Ask every supplier to quote the nine lines above explicitly, marking anything excluded.
What actually moves the price
- Occupancy. Monoplace to multiplace is the single largest step in cost. See monoplace and multiplace models.
- Working pressure. A 3 ATA rated vessel costs more to build and certify than a 2 ATA one.
- Shell construction. Hard shell aerospace aluminium against soft shell fabric is a different class of product with a different service life.
- Oxygen source. Concentrators carry a lower capital cost and a higher electrical load; a cylinder manifold reverses that.
- Site condition. An existing three-phase supply and a ground-floor room with a wide door can remove a significant slice of the installation line.
The number most buyers forget
Capital cost is quoted; operating cost is discovered. For HBOT the recurring items are electricity for the compressor and concentrator, filter and sieve-bed consumables, scheduled pressure vessel inspection, and an annual service visit. Budget for them from day one and your business case will survive year two.
If you are modelling a full facility rather than a single chamber, the cost to set up an HBOT centre in India is covered end to end on Build Your Centre.
